چکیده

Increased affordability and deployment of advanced tracking technologies have led researchers from various domains to analyze the resulting spatio-temporal movement data sets for the purpose of knowledge discovery. Two different approaches can be considered in the analysis of moving objects: quantitative analysis and qualitative analysis. This research focuses on the latter and uses the qualitative trajectory calculus (QTC), a type of calculus that represents qualitative data on moving point objects (MPOs), and establishes a framework to analyze the relative movement of multiple MPOs. A visualization technique called sequence signature (SESI) is used, which enables to map QTC patterns in a 2D indexed rasterized space in order to evaluate the similarity of relative movement patterns of multiple MPOs. The applicability of the proposed methodology is illustrated by means of two practical examples of interacting MPOs: cars on a highway and body parts of a samba dancer. The results show that the proposed method can be effectively used to analyze interactions of multiple MPOs in different domains. OPEN ACCESS ISPRS Int. J. Geo-Inf. 2015, 4 1606

Study on Genetic Diversity of Terminal Fragment Sequence of Isolated Persian Tobacco Mosaic Virus

Tobacco mosaic virus (TMV) is one of the devastating plant viruses in the world that infects more than 200 plant species. Movement protein plays a supportive role in the movement of other plant viruses, and viral coat protein is highly expressed in infected plants and affects replication and movements of TMV. In order to investigate genetic variation in the terminal fragment sequence in Iranian...

A Framework for Exploring the Frequent Patterns based on Activities Sequence

In recent years, the development of the use of location-based tools has made it possible to produce geometric trajectories from the user's movement paths. In this way, users' goal of traveling and related activities can be considered in addition to the geometry and route shape. the user activity trajectory represents the sequence of the visited activities and its related analysis as presented i...

A pattern mining approach toward discovering generalized sequence signatures

Typically, sequence signatures, such as motifs and domains, are assumed to be localized in one region of a sequence or are derived as combinations of the former. We generalize the concept of sequence signatures and introduce an algorithm for efficiently determining signatures based on subsequences that may be located anywhere on a sequence. In a preprocessing step, sequences are transformed int...

Development of a Sigma-Lognormal representation for on-line signatures

This paper proposes an on-line signature representation based on Sigma-Lognormal modeling. It briefly overviews the prior art published on signature modeling and on human movement analysis for handwriting. Then it presents the Sigma-Lognormal paradigm and gives the key steps for the development of a completely automatic parameter extractor for complex human movements. Results of its application...

Parametrization of Pedestrian Injuries and its Utilisation in Proving Traffic Accidents Course Using Injury Signatures and Contact Signatures

Background: The paper points out the present limited possibility of using the verbal description of injuries for the needs of experts from the field of road transportation as relevant criminalistics traces, as well as the options of the FORTIS system that creates a new area for a deeper interdisciplinary approach in the field of expert evidence. Further a description of how to create injury si...
